Ever wondered why the Chinese are said to have one of the highest life expectancies in the world? Thousands of scientific studies confirm what the ancient Chinese knew all along through simple observation that 'green tea is perhaps the most healthful beverage human beings can consume.
There is no question about the antioxidant properties that green tea potents. Studies either strongly suggest or confirm that drinking a daily cup of green tea will l bring with it a host of cognitive health benefits. The antioxidants in green tea can reduce cholesterol, promote fat burning, reduce the risk of several forms of cancer and alleviate depression. Ancient Chinese people knew the benefits of green tea for health. Notwithstanding high rates of cigarette smoking, the tea drinking Chinese have one of the lowest lung cancer rates in the world. They have always used it for medicinal purposes. Like many other plant extracts, green tea inhibits growth of cancer cells. New research from Hong Kong found that green tea, one of the most popular drinks around the world, may benefit bone health and researchers suggest it has the potential to help prevent and treat Osteoporosis and other bone diseases suffered by millions of people worldwide. Green tea has a great importance in Chinese history.In Ancient China, green tea was used especially against the headaches and depression.  Tea was drunk to forget the ruckus of the world.    Not to be confused with the normal black tea variety commonly found in the Grocery Store next door, Green tea is processed slightly differently from traditional black tea. Green tea is processed without fermentation in order to preserve the natural nutrients that contain the health benefits. Freshly cut, young, downy leaves are steamed and then rolled and dried to make green tea. This means that it is slightly more expensive than the traditional blends available on our supermarket shelves but the high cost is well worth it. Unlike black tea, it has very little amount of caffeine which causes to insomnia, nausea and frequent urination.  So next time you feel like taking a soft drink, how about taking green tea?
